Update on North Lake Road: North Lake Rd is CLOSED at the day use area due to heavy runoff and road damage. For those seeking access to the lake, you will need to park below the road closure and walk up (at your own risk). Road repairs will not begin until runoff begins to subside; peak runoff from the historic snowpack has not occurred yet.

Inyo County SAR assisted a group of PCT hikers in a creek crossing at Symmes Creek yesterday. The historic snowpack in the Sierra and associated runoff has caused our creeks and streams to run full and extremely fast. Please be extra cautious around all waterways this year. *photos provided by Inyo SAR
