Wautaga Dam Campground is a beautiful, peaceful campground on the Watauga River in Eastern Tennessee.  It has 29 tent and RV sites, many of which are right on the river.  All RV sites have electric service and water and three have sewer connections as well.

Wautaga Dam Campground has a dedicated website here with more information on fees and services.

In late 2014, Recreation Resource Management (RRM) won a competitive bidding process to operate this and five other TVA campgrounds.  Further information on this transition can be found here.

Note that in the last few years, this campground has seen higher levels of bear activity.  In order to discourage bears from coming into the campground, we ask that everyone store food inside their RV or in their vehicle.   On check-in, campers will be given information on proper food storage techniques.
