Located on the east side of the beautiful 1,323-acre Lake Owen, this campground has 90 shaded campsites nestled under towering pines and hardwoods.. Each campsite includes a parking spur, fire ring, picnic table, tent pad and can accommodate RV’s up to 50 feet. The campground has drinking water, a pay telephone, vault toilets, a fishing pier, two swimming beaches, two developed boat ramps, a dump station for RV’s, and an interpretive trail. Lake Owen and Bass Lake contain panfish, northern pike, walleye, bass and trout. There are 7 walk-in campsites. Campsites may be reserved through a campground reservation system. Accessible sites for people with disabilities are also available. There is a campground host to greet visitors. The North Country National Scenic Trail and Porcupine Lake Wilderness are adjacent or near the campground.

The beautiful, brand-new Matagorda Bay RV Park is located at the mouth of the Colorado River on Matagorda Island.

Matagorda Bay Nature Park is a 1,600-acre park and preserve at the mouth of the Colorado River on the Matagorda Peninsula. LCRA is developing the park to provide recreation, education, wetlands preservation and economic benefit to the region.

The park has about two miles of Gulf of Mexico and river frontage and hundreds of acres of coastal marshes and dunes. It has one of the best birding areas in the nation. LCRA acquired the property in 2001 as part of its commitment to preserve natural resources for future generations and to provide science education, recreation and nature tourism opportunities.

Double Lake Campground

Double Lake Campground, Texas, Example camp siteBuilt in 1937 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, Double Lake offers a little of everything including camping, fishing, picnicking, hiking or just getting back in touch with nature.  The Double Lake Recreation Area is open to day use and camping year round, and is a popular destination all four seasons.Campers have ample places to park their gear with 65 family sites (some with electric and sewer hookups) and an additional nine groups sites. Thirty-seven campsites are accessible for persons with disabilities. With national forest trees surrounding the area, each site is equipped with a picnic table, level pad, lantern holder and a campfire ring or cooking grill.  Showers, drinking water and toilet facilities are located throughout the campground areas.

Silver Campground

Silver Campground New MexicoSilver Campground is located 2 miles NE of Cloudcroft on SH 244.  All paved roads to and through campgrounds. Elevation is 9000 feet. 30 family units spaced closely together provide tables, fire rings, parking spurs, toilets, drinking water, central garbage depository, plus interpretive trails.  There is a trailer length limit of 32 feet.  Handicapped sites and restroom available.

Fall Lake Campground

Fall Lake Campground, MNTotally rebuilt in 2004! Campground has 65 campsites and is located on the shores of Fall Lake, with direct access to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Average summer temperatures are 60-75 degrees in the daytime. Facilities provided include restrooms, boat ramp, picnic tables, fire grates, tent pads and drinking water. We also have canoe rentals as well as camping supplies, pop, ice, snacks and firewood available at the camp store.  Popular activities include fishing, boating, swimming, hiking, biking, and sight-seeing. A popular local event is the Blueberry Arts Festival.  We now accept Mastercard and Visa.

Driving Directions — Fall Lake campground is located about 6 miles east of Ely.  From Ely, travel east on Highway 169 to County Road 18 (Fernberg Rd).  Travel 4.5 miles to Fall Lake Road.  Turn left and continue 1.5 miles to the campground entrance.

Bay Furnace Campground and Picnic Area is located in Alger County. It is 5 miles west of Munising on M-28 on the south shore of Lake Superior, at Christmas. You can enjoy the scenic view of Lake Superior with its spectacular sunrises, sunsets, and occasional northern light displays.

This convenient location makes it a perfect site for the traveler who would like to camp overnight. It is also a perfect place to stay while enjoying the recreational opportunities available in the Munising area. Among many others are the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Alger Underwater Preserve, the boat cruises, Miner’s Castle, and many delightful waterfalls.

Silver Overflow Campground

Silver Overflow Campground, New MexicoSilver Overflow is located 2 miles NE of Cloudcroft on SH 244. It is completely paved.  Elevation is 9000 feet.  52 trailer spaces are available with no length limit.  Has RV dump station, showers, firewood, amphitheater (with Saturday night campfire programs).  Handicapped restroom and shower available.

AuTrain Lake Campground

Autrain Lake Campground, MichiganAuTrain Lake Campground is located in Alger County, about 10 miles west of Munising. At AuTrain, travel south on FR-HO3 for about four miles, then go one mile east on FR-2276, and then two miles north on FR- 2596 to the Campground.

AuTrain Lake is the largest inland lake in the area. It is an 830 acre lake with a maximum depth of 30 feet and an average depth of 12 feet The large size of this lake provides miles of prime water skiing, boating, swimming, and fishing. Canoeing is also popular here on AuTrain Lake and the AuTrain River below the lake.

Elevation is 9000 feet. 17 family units spaced closely together provide tables, fire rings, parking spurs, toilets, drinking water, central garbage depository, and interpretive trails.  There is a trailer length limit of 35 feet.  Handicapped sites and restrooms available.

Island Lake Campground

Island Lake Campground in Alger County is located approximately 10 miles south of Munising on FH-13, then 2 miles west on FR-2268, at the southwest end of lake.

Island Lake is a 32.5 acre lake where the family camper can enjoy canoeing, fishing, hiking, and camping. Located “off the beaten path,” this area receives lighter visitor use than some other campgrounds, so it may offer you more privacy and serenity.
