I have some good news and some bad. Due to weather condition (snow) the Big Pine Creek Campgrounds will not be open for the trout opener. I would suggest that you camp in one of our campgrounds in the Bishop Creek Canyon. Bitterbrush, Big Trees, Forks and 4 Jefferies campgrounds should be open. Bishop Park and Intake II will not, due to snow. We are still working hard to get our campgrounds open but we have to make this decision. If we screwed up your plans I am sorry please try one of our open campgrounds. Stay turn to this site for the latest updates on the campground in the Big Pine Creek and Bishop Creek drainage. ... *Whitney Portal Road UPDATE: The protective slurry has been placed over the damaged sections of the road where the rockslide occurred. The road is currently under the standard winter closure. *Horseshoe Meadows Road UPDATE: There has been a site survey preformed and a plan is currently being developed for site stabilization and repair. *Onion Valley Road UPDATE: Road crews are anticipating beginning work this week; however the extent of the road work is currently unknown. *South Lake and Sabrina Roads UPDATE: Once an official snow measurement has been determined, the Inyo County Road Dept will be able to assess when it is safe to attempt road cleanup and/or repair work. A big thank you to everyone who has been patient – this winter has brought historic amounts of snow to the Sierra and with that, the associated rockslide road damage. Please continue to be patient as road crews do their best to get these roads cleared and safe. We will keep you updated on any new info!

We want to thank everyone that helped to make this Halloween festivity a great success. A lot of our camping friends and workers put a lot of work into this event. There were a lot of scary little trick or treaters going from trailer to trailer in the afternoon collecting treats and the evening was completed by a very scary Haunted Hayride. There were many witches and goblins along the path of the Hayride. We were so happy that there were so many participants that we had to load up the hayride 5 different times to give everyone a chance to go down the haunted trail. Please view all of the pictures posted in this Halloween Album so that we can share with you all of the fun that was had by all that participated. Hope to see you all again next year! ...
