The park is within the Cascade Range and Modoc Plateau natural region, with 910 acres of forest and five miles of streamside and lake shoreline, including a portion of Lake Britton.

The park’s centerpiece is the 129-foot Burney Falls, which is not the highest or largest waterfall in the state, but possibly the most beautiful. Additional water comes from springs, joining to create a mist-filled basin. Burney Creek originates from the park’s underground springs and flows to Lake Britton, getting larger along the way to the majestic falls.

Within the park, the water emerges as springs at and above Burney Falls, where it flows at 100 million gallons every day.

More Burney Falls Information Here

Park hours and information are available by calling 530-335-2777

For boat slips reservations and boat rental information, call the store and marina at 530-335-5713

Finally, cabin and campground reservations can be made at 1-800-444-7275

Clear Lake State Park is on the shores of California’s largest freshwater lake. The area is popular for all kinds of water recreation, including swimming, fishing, boating and water-skiing.

Anglers can catch large mouth bass, crappie, bluegill and channel catfish. The park is the nesting place for waterfowl. Hikers enjoy the Indian Nature Trail, a self-guided trail that shows how the Pomo people, who lived in the area for centuries, utilized the area’s resources. The trail passes through the site of what was once a Pomo village. The park visitor center features displays about the area’s natural and cultural history. The park includes a 147 space campground with lots of shade and most spaces a short walk from the lake. NEW FOR 2012: Eight camping cabins, walking distance from the lake.

We operate a store and boat slip rental located right in the parking lot adjacent to the boat ramp. In addition to grocery items, we rent small (Kayaks) and large (pontoon) boats, provide overnight slip rentals, and battery or trolling motor charging stations.
