Mt. Laguna Campground is open. Please note a few restrictions listed below:

Facial coverings are required. 

No social gatherings in groups more than 8.

Practice appropriate social distancing by maintaining 6 feet from other visitors.

Practice good hygiene (avoid touching face, wash hands regularly or use hand sanitizer, sneeze or cough into a tissue or the inside of your elbow, disinfect used items and surfaces).

Please stay home if you are experiencing any symptoms.

  • Laguna Campground is a great mountain getaway just one hour east of San Diego, CA, in the Laguna Mountain Recreation Area. Campers can enjoy cooler temperatures, unique natural areas, and an extensive trail system at this mountain facility during summer through early fall.

    Campground (104 total sites)

    This large facility has 5 loops of campsites, with sites fairly close to one another. There is 1 site that meets ADA guidelines. The facility is equipped with campfire rings, flush toilet restrooms, and coin-operated showers.

    Part of the campground is fenced off to protect the habitat of the endangered Laguna Skipper butterfly. Visitors are asked to respect the fence boundary and comply with the maximum site occupancy.

    Day Use

    The area's majestic scenery and variety of trails draw in hikers, mountain bikers and equestrian enthusiasts. The 3.5-mile Lake Trail can be accessed from the campground, and many other trails are in nearby John Muir Wilderness.
